This might seem like a weird question, but did anybody else have human Masters before they were brought here?
Or do the companies still own you?

Just the companies that owned us. I wouldn't really call them 'masters' since we didn't exactly... take orders from them or anything. More like we worked for them.

They were... well...

The company that made Neru, Dell and I weren't exactly happy with how Neru and I turned out. I can't say they were nice, but they weren't horrible. Just... didn't always say the nicest things.

But Miku's company, the original creators of the Vocaloids? They were always wonderful to us.

We're the 'originals,' so the companies owned us. They were...I guess they were nice? They wanted us happy so we worked well, anyway.

Well, we made them a lot of money. We were made to make them money. I'm sure some of them were nice because they liked us. Others were probably just nice because we made them money. When it's a whole company, it's hard to say one way or another because people are different.

It's... complicated, Nigaito. I've learned that. But if some one was trying to tell you not to trust humans at all, they're wrong. The ones you know here can be trusted and care about you just as much as the rest of us do.

I talked to this guy and he said humans were all bad and would only be nice until I did something wrong. But I haven't really gotten to know more than one human before I came here, so I don't know if it's true.

I don't think Sabine-chan and the others would do that...

Oh, that's totally not true. I mean, Rin and I made the company pay for a road roller we stole. They were really angry, but they weren't evil about it. We were just in trouble until we paid them back with our work.

If they were EVIL, then they'd make us do more than earn back all the money they spent.

So, yeah, that person? Never listen to them again. They don't know what they're talking about. Humans can be evil, but they're nice. They can be all sort of different things. But technically, so can we because of our Kokoro programs.

Greg can be... moody sometimes, but I wouldn't ever call him 'mean'. Same with Sabine. Nick and Cathrine just got here, but I've heard nothing but good things about them.

I know sometimes they can be a bit scary. It's difficult being out of your element and around so many new people, but I hope you know that none of us, even the humans, would ever do anything bad to you. We'd do everything we could to keep you protected.

We figured it out. It wasn't too hard.

It is, but there's a lot of good people. Like in the family, they're all good people.

Yeah. The Kokoro program lets us really feel the emotions, to grow, change, even go outside of our programing.
